"MUSEUM MOBIL" in the City of Fürth

"VERFLECHTUNGEN - KORBMACHERINNEN IN ZAMBIA UND IN OBERFRANKEN"
"INTERTWINING - BASKET MAKERS IN ZAMBIA AND UPPER FRANCONIA"

An exhibition with numerous woven works by women from Zambia, combined with woven works from Upper Franconia. The pictures from the past and the present show different, strange worlds. At first glance, all women have in common their profession. Among the Tonga people in Zambia, basket making is regarded as women's work. In Upper Franconia, women weave wickerwork in family and industrial areas as an additional source of income. However, both women's groups are equally affected by the worldwide economic deterioration and the unprotected working conditions.

For rental are available:

- numerous artistic baskets from Zambia

- Images of Zambia and Oberfanken

- historical testimonies to Oberfanken
